The tuition for the LL.M. program is RMB ￥146,000 for one year and ￥73,000 for one semester.
Currently, Tsinghua University offers four kinds of scholarship to the international students: Chinese Government Scholarship, Beijing Government Scholarship, Tsinghua University Scholarship, and Confucius Institute Scholarship. The Chinese Government Scholarship is mostly full scholarship and open to both the degree program students (undergraduate and graduate) and the visiting/exchange students. The Beijing Government Scholarship and Tsinghua University Scholarship are tuition scholarships and open to the degree program students.
Chinese Government Scholarship
The Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) scheme provides full scholarship and partial scholarship to the international students studying in China. Full scholarships cover tuition, accommodation, living allowance and medical insurance, etc. Partial scholarships cover some proportions of tuition, accommodation, living allowance and medical insurance. In the academic year 2014-2015, 1.3% of the new undergraduates, 26.5% of the new Master's students, 77.1% of the new doctoral students, and 10.7% of the new visiting/exchange students of Tsinghua University have been awarded Chinese Government Scholarships.
Beijing Government Scholarship
The Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) is established by Beijing Municipal Government to attract and support excellent foreign students to study in Beijing. It is used to cover the tuition fees fully or partially, and needs to be applied year by year. In Tsinghua University, the Beijing Government Scholarship is open only to the undergraduates and Master's students. In the academic year 2014-2015, 10.2% of the new undergraduates and 15.6% of the new Master's students of Tsinghua University have been granted Beijing Government Scholarships.
Tsinghua University Scholarship
The Tsinghua University Scholarship (TUS) is established by Tsinghua University to encourage and support excellent foreign students to study at Tsinghua University. The Scholarship is used to cover tuition fees fully or partially, and needs to be applied year by year. Since 2011, the Scholarship is open only to the doctoral students. In the academic year 2014-2015, 14.6% of the new doctoral students of Tsinghua University have been granted Tsinghua University Scholarship.
Confucious Institute Scholarship
The Confucius Institute Scholarship is established by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) to encourage and support foreign students to study Chinese language and culture in China. Tsinghua University is authorized by Hanban to enroll the Confucius Institute Scholarship students who will be studying Chinese language in China for one semester or one year. The Scholarship application should be recommended by the Confucius Institute or the Education Section of Chinese Embassies in the applicant's home country.
The students who have applied from a new scholarship are eligible for the "New Country Scholarship". Previous students on the program have been from the countries below. If from a country not listed below you are eligible for the new countries scholarship.
USA, Canada, UK, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, Spain, Israel, Thailand, Korea, Mexico, Germany, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Estonia, France, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Chile, Mongolia, Denmark, Russia, Austria, Portugal, Poland, Uruguay, India, Netherlands, Greece, Pakistan. 32 countries totally.
Asian students from Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea applying for a full-time degree program or who are currently enrolled at Tsinghua University are eligible for the Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program.
Successful candidates will be supported over the course of their degree studies at Tsinghua University, subject to a maximum commitment of US$50,000 from the Institute.
